Jewelry Care

The jewelry that we sell is finely crafted by world renown jewelers and need to be cared for so you can enjoy them for a lifetime.

General Care
We recommend that prior to putting on your jewelry, you first apply your make-up, perfume & hairspray. Remove your jewelry before doing any household work or manual labor. Never wear pearl earrings or necklaces when getting hair colored. Store your jewelry in pouches, boxes or ziplock bags. Wrap each piece individually (in tissue or cloth) to avoid scratching.

Gold and Platinum
Prior to cleaning your jewelry, examine it carefully to ensure that all settings, clasps and prongs are secure.
To clean your jewelry, use either a cleaning solution of mild dish soap & warm water, or a non-abrasive jewelry cleaner (available at local jewelry stores).
Step 1. Dip your jewelry in cleaning solution or cleaner.
Step 2. Use a very soft toothbrush to gently loosen any dirt.
Step 3. Dry with a soft, lint-free cloth and buff softly until shiny.

Silver
If silver has a Rhodium coating, just use a soft cloth or a jewelry polishing cloth and gently polish. If it does not have a Rhodium coating, then clean the silver with a pre-treated polishing cloth or a cleaning solution of mild dish soap & warm water. Follow with a soft, lint-free cloth until shiny. If using a cleaning solution, follow the same instructions as for gold & platinum jewelry, but do not soak the silver jewelry for too long, as that may alter the finish. If the jewel has an antique coating such as the JCG Collection, first use a pretreated jewelry polish cloth and gently polish. Avoid polishing pearls, Mother of Pearl and sem-precious stones. Enjoy your silver pieces, as frequent wearing can prevent tarnishing!
